Problems with a new Wacom Intous Art tablet

Mats Liljegren
I try to use my newly bought Wacom tablet, but cannot get X-windows to accept it. The lsusb entry for this tablet is:

Bus 001 Device 004: ID 056a:033e Wacom Co., Ltd

Dmesg entries related to Wacom:

[ 6304.573356] wacom 0003:056A:033E.000D: hidraw0: USB HID v1.10 Device [Wacom Co.,Ltd. Intuos PTM] on usb-0000:00:14.0-2/input0
[ 6304.574587] wacom 0003:056A:033E.000E: Unknown device_type for 'Wacom Co.,Ltd. Intuos PTM'. Ignoring.
[ 6304.575945] wacom 0003:056A:033E.000F: Unknown device_type for 'Wacom Co.,Ltd. Intuos PTM'. Ignoring.

And the xorg log:

[  6300.774] (II) config/udev: Adding input device Wacom Co.,Ltd. Intuos PTM Pen (/dev/input/event5)
[  6300.775] (**) Wacom Co.,Ltd. Intuos PTM Pen: Applying InputClass "Wacom USB device class"

[  6300.856] (EE) PreInit returned 8 for "Wacom Co.,Ltd. Intuos PTM Pen"
[  6300.856] (II) UnloadModule: "wacom"

I use xf86-input-wacom 0.32, and libwacom 0.17. Not sure though where the kernel driver comes from.

So why does it unload the module? Is it the kernel driver that needs updating, and if so, where can I find a newer one?

/Mats
